No Place Like Home

Home is a place where you can grow and thrive, One where people give you motivation and drive It’s somewhere where you will always keep growing, For there is constant guidance and wisdom flowing Home’s where friends and family reside, The place where people will be by your side Our home is where we can be ourselves, Because we fit in just right, like books on a shelf Home is warm food and comforting spaces, We’ll always find ours in all kinds of places It is not just a house, it’s so much more It’s so unique, every room and their door Our room’s a sanctuary, our own safe space Where we can dream safely, it’s quite the place Symbolizing rest, serenity, and calm, I can sleep soundly, from dusk ‘till dawn The bathroom is where we relax and unwind Cleanliness and deep thoughts are what we’ll find We see our reflection in a mirror bright and long It shows us our true selves and where we belong The living room’s where conversation starts With the people we love, can’t stand to be apart Chatter, laughter and love fill the room, My heart fills when I’m there, and I always seem to bloom And lastly the kitchen, where we make our delights The food’s all ready, so come on, take a bite Delicious aromas fill the air Sugar and spice, a wonderful pair The roof on my house is protection and shelter The walls keep me safe from the outside world Every window’s a beacon of light Shining emotions come in a whirl So thank you parents, and thank you house For you make sure I’m never alone Let’s raise a glass, here’s to our home For it’s the best place we’ve ever known
