Home isn't Just a Place, it's a Feeling
What does home mean? What’s home? To you home may just be a structure of walls, a roof and floors. However to me it's memory, family, love, laughter and tears. Let me explain the meaning of the word home.
First of all, home isn't just a place to me because no other place will ever be the same. At home I feel safe, I feel happy, but most importantly I feel like I belong. In other places it doesn’t feel safe or happy. It’s like I know what and when to do at home.
Secondly for some people they don’t feel safe at their house, so some peoples houses don’t feel like home. The meaning of home isn’t walls and a roof over your head, it’s a feeling of safety, care, love, hope, connection and happiness. You never know what someone is going through if you haven't experienced living at their house. If people don’t feel comfortable talking about their home they probably don’t feel safe around the people they grew up around (does not always mean that)
Third, at other places you don’t always feel happy. Home isn’t always a place, it can be a person or a pet. To me home is my friends at school, the reasoning as to why is because they make me feel worth something. They make me laugh, smile and make me happy. I really love my friends.
After everything I’ve explained about why home is NEVER just a structure, in my opinion home is a feeling of joy and good things. Every home is different, you shouldn’t judge someone by how their home feels because you never know if they are okay or not. That is my explanation and opinion of home.
