A Home in a Storm.

A Home in a Storm. By: Octavio Miller. What is a home? Is it just a place to live? Well I think it is more than a place to live. When I go home I feel safe like I can't be hurt or pained (emotionally and physically) as: no matter how strong the storm is outside I will always be safe inside.I may be lucky that I have never suffered from financial problems but I have from mental ones. I remember one time I tried to end my life. Because I felt like I had no home. I am also lucky to live in a time and place where we are relatively safe. However there are also a lot of people that don't have a home but have a house and vice versa. I have always had a house but not always a home. Me and my friend Marcaus made a haiku; cold and wet out there It doesn't matter in here warm and dry in here That was about a home and a storm. And yes that is what a home is a shelter from the storm, but the storm is not all ways literally a storm with clouds but sometimes just the storm of life, the storm that always is raging, in our hearts and in our minds, the storm that hurts us in forms that can hurt us more than a injury or a fall. There is a expression that says and i quote”sticks and stone may break my bones but words will never hurt me” But I say”sticks and stone may break my bones but words will always hurt me”,it means that we should always think about our words. So even though a home is a shelter you shouldn't just hide from problems a home should just be a place to regroup and recuperate before solving your problems and facing your fears. And in conclusion that is the meaning of a Home.
