What Is Home?
Home is where you bond with your family and friends. Home is where you eat. No one could change my mind about what a home is, because a home is where you learn from your mistakes, be yourself, and feel like you belong. When I am at home, I feel like I am a calm, amazing and valuable person. A home is where you spend time with family and make changes of memories that will stick with you even if sometimes we get sad.
Even though we are sad, we know that there is a roof above our heads, and we have a place to feel safe and let our emotions out and be thankful. I personally think that everyone deserves a home, it doesn’t matter what the person’s past was like or future. We all deserve a home with a home where you can let out your emotions. No matter how big or small the home is, it is what is on the inside and thought. You don’t have to surprise anyone with your home. What matters is if you think it is a home.
I believe that when you are at home, you should know that you are loved and it is your safe place. But, it takes quite a bit of time to change a house into a home. During Covid, I really realized what a home is. I thought I knew before, but things have changed. I realized that a home is a place to have good times and to be thankful, feel happy, and spend time with family.
The point of this essay is to tell you that a home does not have to be pretty, or big to really make it feel like a home. You can have a big home, but you don’t need a big home. I love my home, and not because of the size, or the look of it. It is because of the times I have had in my home, and how it makes me feel. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for giving me a chance to tell you, What Home Means to Me.
You can support yourself and remember you matter, you can make a difference.
