The Sound Of Laughter and The Stillness of Silence

Sounds of laughter bounced off the walls, the aroma of warm, buttery popcorn, freshly popped consumed the air around the family. They all sat around, the children all perched up against their glass table, eager to see who would win the game. The parents came around, and picked up each one in their arms with love so big, if built, could tower over all. There was popcorn everywhere. Stuck onto their pajamas. One kid dared to look at the time. The game was coming to an end. No one cared though. They were stuck in this bliss, a cloud that overwhelmed them with such happiness. There were no words needed to describe it. The toddler suddenly sprang up from his position. The one that kept him entranced with the magic around him. Everyone turned to look and see why. He proclaimed with joy, “This is the best day ever, again!” Silence echoed through the halls, you could hear, feel nothing. But it was one of the loudest sounds one could encounter in their lives. one would never think a family resided in it. Everything inside was still, except the people. They all were doing various things, one was occupied with homework, one was distracted in a fight with the younger one, and the parents were busy preparing for work. Maybe the silence would bother some, but the family felt indifferent to it, it felt normal. As if it was meant for them. They felt they belonged deep within, they just didn't know how to explain it. Whatever it was they knew they would never be able to convey it to each other, as even without words, they knew they loved each other to the maximum. To them silence wasn't emptiness, it was a bond in its own way. A strength.
