What Home Means To Me

Home to me means joy and laughter like how my dad made no-bake cookies and they were delicious. That was fun. Once my mum put a hard boiled egg in the microwave and it exploded when she poked it with a fork! Also it's a tradition I have to have a Christmas dinner at my grandma's house, I feel like that's my home too. I feel safe there. I live with my mom, my sister, and my dad. When my dad cooks dinner at home I love to eat his cooking, I feel at home when I eat bacon, I love bacon. My mom also makes really good food too, it's delicious, my mum taught me how to make grilled cheese, I haven't made grilled cheese in a while but its really good, the toasty bread with the melted cheese. I also really like going outside, I feel at home outside too as well as being at any family members house, I like being at the park across the street from my house ,I like snuggling up in my room with my soft fluffy green blanket. I like making art as well and drawing. I like baking a lot I personally think it's really fun, I'm lazy a lot when I am at home because I like to relax at home from a long day at school and I really like baking cookies and cooking not that I know how to cook that much but I think cooking would be a really fun job because I like making food, I find it fun! I think that home is a very nice, safe and calming place because you can do art, crafts, cooking and much more. You can play with your siblings if you have siblings, that's what I like to do! I also like to go exploring in the forest and going to the beach. I love exploring in general! Just not swamps or anywhere too muddy or really wet the ocean is nice. Home to me is in the forests, rivers, oceans, almost anywhere not so muddy or yucky. I have board game nights at my house and times where I stay awake for a while and go to bed at one in the morning! I have fun meeting my friends at the park across the street from my house! I like making things at my house like crafts and art and I like to paint too! I print pictures and tape them to my door. I might get a board to pin pictures to my wall so I don't wreck my wall. My grandma makes sweet bread called masa and my grandma also makes biscuits that I help make. There is also a portuguese tart and they are really yummy but hard to make. My mum gets them from the store so we can have the really yummy tarts but not have to go through the really hard work to not make it a jelly like texture. I go to Portuguese festivals. I don't feel at home there but once I settle in it's fun and settling! I feel at home when I am with my best friends Arayah, Kenzie, Grace, Vallee, Myra, Kayla and Jake. It is fun being with them. Home to me is joy, happiness, warmth, laughter. That's what home feels like to me.
