A Home is a Feeling
A home is a feeling. A feeling at the end of the day that you can’t wait to feel. It’s a feeling that’s filled with emotion. It might not always be a good feeling but it’s the feeling of home.
The feeling I get when I come home from school or vacation is a feeling of joy. Even though I might miss the place I went to when I was there, I missed the feeling of home more. I missed the hearts beating and the rumble of people and pets running around the house.
A home has memories and things that spark emotion. While a home might also be a shelter it’s also a sanctuary for stories to be told and heartfelt moments to be shared.
While a house might be big with fancy furniture and decorations, a home might be small and have some wear and tear, but home is a place to feel important and needed.
To me, home has voices that fill the air, feet tapping on the floor and the smells of supper and dessert filling the air.
Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for building fabulous homes for fabulous people. The work you do to make the world a better place is noticed.
