Home to Me

A house can have blue, white, black, or red walls. A house has a bed and four walls. A house can be fancy and neat. But that is not a home, A home can be people or pets. A home can be bent or have dents. To me, a home is where you feel safe, warm, and loved where you fit in like a glove. A house is a building with a rug spread on the living room floor and a shed on the edge of the lawn. But that is not a home. A home is your safe place, a place you belong. It's the place where you feel like cream cheese on a bagel. A house has a dining room table and four chairs surrounding it. But that is not a home. A home is a place that smells like peanut butter cookies. A home is friends and family sitting at the dining room table. A house is a wooden structure. But that is not a home. A home is laughter, happiness, and sadness. A house is a building with a lawn. But that is not a home. A home is the smell of freshly washed laundry that is still wet. A house is an empty space., but that is not a home. Thank you Habitat Humanity for building houses for people in need and in hard situations.
