A Home is Not A House

Home… what do you think of home? Home is more than some walls, a roof, and a door. A home is not a house. A house is just where you rest, watch TV, eat, and sleep. A home is a place of love, memories, and thoughts. A home is not a house. The feeling of home is soothing. I hear the TV playing. I taste the delicious, mouthwatering food my mom makes me. I feel the cool, fresh air as my dog just rummages around playing with his toys. Home is a place of happiness. It’s a place where you are noticed. It’s a place where everyone matters. A home is not a house. A house is just a building with an address. A home is a comfortable, welcoming place where you can do what you want to do. Home is freedom. You are safe in your home. Home is a cherished, safe haven where you are protected against varieties of harsh elements. Home is where life is better. Home is where you thrive, and where you survive. A home is not a house. A house is just a structure. A home is a place of bonds, and connections. A home is a place where you are free from all the things that bring you down. A house and home are similar, but a home is not a house. A house is just a normal, bland place. Nothing too special. But homes hold emotion and feelings. Love, joy, care, positivity, and countless more emotions. I love my home. Everybody deserves a home. A home is not a house, it’s so much more. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity, for building homes for people. With your help, the country has become so beautiful.
