Home is heart, Home may be just a “basic” home to some but to me it’s my life. Home is where all the love lives. Home can be quiet, Home can be loud. Home is the sound of the door locking keeping us safe and making me feel protected. Home is the sound of water bubbling on the stove when my mom makes delicious pasta, Home is the yummy smell of a triple batch of chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven. The whole house smells like ooey, gooey, goodness bringing me joy knowing I get to inhale them. Home is more than four walls and a roof over my head. Home feels like a rush of warm air coming to hug you when you walk through the door. Home is calm. Home is laughter. Home is playing games with my family making me laugh so hard that I turn red as a tomato and start acting silly. Home is both rushed and patient, Home is respect, Home is where all the love lives. Home is memories and cherished items like treasured stuffed animals. Home is all the toys in my basement that bring me joy. Home is curling up with a good book and relaxing. Home is finally coming home after a long day at school. Home is sitting down on the couch and watching your favorite TV show on Netflix with a big bowl of salty, buttery popcorn. Home is the sound of my dog barking with excitement when I get home from school. Home is love. Home is where all the love lives.
