My Home

A house isn’t the same as a home. A home is where the love starts. It’s where the peace starts. It’s where life starts. Home is peaceful. It’s quiet. It’s love. A house is a building that you live in. A home is a sanctuary that you live, love and thrive in. In a house there’s no feeling. It’s boring and gloomy. In a home the feeling of warmth, kindness and care never stops. In a house there’s furniture and walls. In a home there’s memories and cherished items, like my blanket that has been sitting on my bed since I was born keeping me warm since day one. In a house it’s cold, indifferent and empty. In a home it’s joy, it’s sadness, its anger, it’s all the emotions combined making up home. A house is a shelter. A home is life. My home may just be a house to some, but to me it’s my joy. It’s my comfort. It’s my happiness. I wouldn’t have my home any other way. Home gives you your passion. Home gives you a judgment free zone. Home gives you… Home. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for helping people to have more than a house, Habitat for Humanity gives people a home.
