Home
The roof above my head and the four walls that surround me may be a house, but a home is filled with people you love.
If home was a feeling, it would be love.
If home was a hug, it would never let go.
A home is what you miss when you are away.
Home is a place to really connect to the loved ones around you. It’s a place to feel loved and hopeful.
Home is the rushing warm air wrapping around you on a cold winter’s day.
Home is a place to let out all your feelings that you feel you need to share with someone special.
Home is a loving home. It is the safe feeling that lets you know when you’re at home there is nothing to fear.
Home is a place that protects you from a dangerous world surrounding you with reassuring thoughts.
Home is the delicious smells coming from the kitchen, and my favourite tomato soup bubbling in the pot on the kitchen stove surrounding me with joy after a long day away.
Home looks and sounds like my dog crashing through the halls ready to say “hi”. Home is where I feel safe, especially when I have a warm, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie to eat. Home is my sister doing her wacky made-up dance moves at dinner when she’s supposed to be eating.
Home is warm hot chocolate that makes my tongue tingle with glee.
No four walls can hold the feeling of home whether it’s a mansion, a shack, an apartment or on a cliffside.
Home is a place to thrive.
Home is where your heart is.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving everyone a place to call home.
