A Feeling of Home

I watch families come through my door, Feel their footsteps on my floor, They give my insides their unique styles, They look at me with their shining smiles, The smell of their breakfast, their lunch, and their dinner, Makes my loneliness go away and start to get thinner, The scenery they see out my window each day and night, Is a comforting, relaxing, and beautiful sight. They give me decorations on Christmas night, And every time it shines so bright, The care they give me, the love they do, The warmth of their hearts melts me too. I store memories of families in frames and albums, The feeling of emptiness is often seldom, I represent the future, present and past, Gives me the meaning of my life at last, Their time with family the ecstaticness they have, And that’s what always makes me laugh, Then kids grow up to leave to roam, That's how it feels to be a home.
