The Five Senses Of Home

To me none of this stuff makes a home. Family and friends make it a real home. Like when we watch movies together and just family time. If Home were a smell, it would be the smell of fresh, warm, buttery popcorn. Tasty! If Home was a smell, it would smell like fresh baked sugar cookies and snickerdoodles. Yum! If Home was a taste, it would be my dad’s juicy steak, roasted broccoli, and buttery roasted potato wedges. If Home were a taste, it would taste like fresh baked pinklets my Dad makes for breakfast on the weekend. If Home were a sound, it would sound like my neighbour's motorcycle waking me up in the morning. If Home were a sound, it would be the hockey game playing on my tv but at my grandma house the football game. If home were a sight, it would be the Christmas tree lights shining in the dark, it looks really pretty. If Home were a sight it would be my family and I and my dog Kona watching Christmas movies like Home Alone, The Grinch, and Elf . If home were a sight it would be the pit behind my house that we have thrown my dog’s toy over so many times it's hilarious. This is all stuff that goes in a house but family makes it a real home. So when i walk in to my house I know it is more than a building, it’s a Home and I know i’m loved and safe in my Home.
