The Meaning of Home
Home is with my family. With family you get love and support. They are your guide to life. They help you grow. They let you learn, they let you be independent. They give you education. We have ups and downs but we are still a family.
When my family moved to a new house it didn't feel like home. Then we made friends with the neighbors. At first I felt nervous but then I got to know them and felt more comfortable in my new neighbourhood. We also got our rooms and me and my sisters switched rooms to ones that fit us better. Getting my own room made me nervous at first but then I got used to it and that's when it felt like home. I feel safe in my home.
Don't forget a home and a house are two different things. Let me explain what a house is. A house is a place that doesn’t feel like home yet. A home is where you feel comfortable. I feel like I am at home because I feel loved.
Habitat for humanity helps people find a home. For example, if you don't have enough money to buy a house they would pay for some of it. They help families feel safe and comfortable.
