Home is where the heart is...
Home is Where The Heart is
Home is more than I place I live,
It’s where I appreciate and thrive.
In the garden tulips bloom everywhere,
I hear laughter and joy fill the air.
Home is a place to be wild and fun,
Here the play and frolic is never done.
Give mom a tease and a goofy pun,
Spray dad with a water gun.
Running, jumping, act like an elf,
Home’s where I can be myself.
Bury my face with books on my bed,
Pretend I’m sleeping, reading instead.
Birds singing is my home’s sound ,
While beetles hide and try not to be found.
Just open your eyes and you’ll see,
Home is a place for all creatures to be.
Home has empathy,
Listen to you as you speak.
It will always be there steady and wise,
Offering a helping hand, no need for disguise.
Home is a place that comforts me,
Through sadness, despair and bad memories.
It’s more than a place to rest and sleep,
It wipes my eyes when I weep.
A sudden thought ,
Leaves me wondering after dark.
What if my home was gone?
Without a home would be a burden to carry,
Like losing ones that you love dearly.
With nowhere to be and nowhere to stay,
I’d be lost like a lonely stray.
A golden star shoots by,
Illuminating the dark black sky.
I close my eyes and make a wish,
For this world to live in bliss.
I look outside and find a world sleeping,
And think-everyone deserves a home for keeping.
Open your heart and you’ll see ,
Home is a place for everyone to be.
Just like a bird finds it’s song,
I’ve found where I belong.
Supporting others to help understand,
Home is where you grow hand in hand.
