A Home

A house has four walls, a roof, and furniture. But a home has love, every day when I get home it's like a safe warm hug. A house is a collection of building materials that you put together, but a home is like structural pieces of caring and nurturing that make a home. A house is a place, but a home is like a family. When I'm with my family I feel at home. When I’m at home I feel safe, and I feel loved. My family is like a bubble with games and laughter. It's a safe place where I can be myself and not feel pressured to be or do anything. I could play soccer or football with my dad, or go on a walk with my mom. When I was six I went to another country for a month with my mom, and the thing I missed the most was my dad because I would go to my dad's house every weekend. It was like my second home, but when I was in a different country for so long, I got used to the place I was staying. After I got back I stayed with my dad, and it took me a while to get used to my dad's house. What that means to me is any place can be your home if it’s safe, has your family, and surrounds you with love. So a home to me is love, caring, games, laughter, safety, lack of judgment, and family.
