What I Think A Home Is
To me, a house is like an empty jar, bare but has protection, the base for a filling.
A home is that filling, full of emotions and care.
A house is very spacious with room to move and no memories made yet.
A home is full to the brim, with souvenirs from trips and gifts from the family, each with their own special little memory.
A house could feel unsafe, which is a place you don’t want to be.
A home could feel supported, which is a place you do want to be.
A house could feel scary at first and you don’t want to be there but slowly, slowly but surely, it turns into your home where you feel invited, cozy, safe, and secure.
In the end, a home is always better than a house.
Thanks, Habitat for Humanity, for helping these nice people have a house so they can make a home!
