The Importance of home

Home, what does a home mean to me? When I think of home it is a place filled with love, family and peace. I feel relaxed and happy when I am at home. When I am sad my mom is always there to comfort me. When I am hungry, my mom will cook my favorite dishes. If I am bored, my brother will tell me funny jokes and play games with me. Every day after school, I always look forward to going home, I don’t really know why. If I feel stressed or tired, once I get home the stress and tiredness slowly goes away. When I was nervous for my school’s Christmas performance, my parents encouraged me and kept me calm. When my family and I had hot pot together on Chinese New Year, the room was filled with happiness and love. My Home is not just four walls and a roof, but a place that makes me feel safe. It is a place where I learn to build close relationships with my family members and neighbors. It is where memories are made, and happiness is experienced through simple things like enjoying delicious meals my mom cooks and playing board games. In conclusion, “Home” is very important to me because if there is no home then my experiences would not come through. If there was no home, then I will be lonely and filled with sadness. Hong Kong was my home. Canada is my new home, but my mom and siblings will always be my home.
