Meaning of Home

The meaning of home to me, Is as simple as can be. It is an endless realm of possibilities, Filled to the brim with positivity. The living room, a place where memories are told, A place where there is joy to unfold. It’s a place where bonds and connections are strong, A place where everyone there belongs. The kitchen, a place with spices and sweets, It’s where you cook and bake yummy treats. A place where smells and tastes comfort you, And trigger memories of tasty food, too! The bedrooms, a place of comfort to call your own, It’s where you feel safe and truly known. A place where you can rest that’s cosy and true, And lift the day’s burdens, sleep to renew. The bathroom, where you can make your own story, It’s where you can wash and restore to your former glory. In the toilet is where you do your business, And lean over when you have a sickness. The basement, a place of laughter and fun, Where you can watch a movie, and say a bad pun. A place to workout, complete with a dance studio, Where your movements can be controlled, or flow. The office, a place of ideas and creativity, A place to dream, with lots of activity. A place where you work to make lots of money, And keep your family going, so the days are still sunny. The hallways, a path through space and time, Transitioning through realms of rhythm and rhyme. A walkway with rooms on either side, Going through life, doors open wide. The true meaning of home isn’t a four walled building, Instead it’s a truly nice, warm and happy feeling. A place where happiness is slowly grown, Everyone deserves a home.
