Home not a house, my meaning of home

We all have homes, weather it’s a building, family, or city. Home is for laughs and baths. With bumps and jumps Even with crying and smiling. Random crocheting needles and bird feeders hanging on the porch. Home is where to soften and never be forgotten. You can trust the people around you with love, care and your heart in there. Rips and tears in our house but always ending up connected with our care. “Bang!” The curling rocks clash together, “Score!” Weather it’s inside or outside love is indented in our hearts, always and forever on Together, togetherness together who? Together, with you Twinkling Christmas lights on the decorated tree. Food, family, and friends all gather at the table with mouth watering meals. With picture frames of my parents wedding hung up upon the walls Home is opinions and hard decisions. Through the gravel or paved road. People see Facebook posts and instagram reels but what they don’t see is what’s behind the camera. Centuries of memories carry’s laughing and crying at moments you won’t expect. With power outages the stash of candles gets pulled out and trying to find something to connect to With many crib games, wins and losses. Where we're taught right from wrong. Leads to playing pool at my great aunts with little cousins running around being goofy. The point of this poem is to show what your home means to you. My home is stuffed with food family and one of my prize possessions. My family is wide and big or little and small, no matter what the occasion is. My family is my family, squished into a picture frame with endless memories. From the past and more to await, meaning of home isn’t, home itself it’s the people that’s in and around it.
