The Headpond

Take me to where the water flows where the wind blows through the trees and down to the river where we have campfires whenever we want. Take me to the river where nights seem endless where loons yell and coyotes howl The place we can swim everyday in the summertime Where we were mermaids Where my uncle taught us to fish Where we can paddleboard for hours The place we kayaked to the other side to visit my cousins Where nights are cold and mornings are bright Where dad is always fixing something Where the concrete roads stop and the dirt road starts The place an old beat up cabin used to stand Where sun shines and rain falls Take me home to the Headpond.
