Memories Are My Home
As cozy as sitting in front of a fireplace
Fresh pancakes and syrup in the morning
Sledding, snowforts and skiing
Hot chocolate in my tummy
Wind in my hair, feet raised high
Biking through a massive puddle
Hiding in a secret cubby space
Childhood friends surrounding me
like a warm blanket
A good movie with my furry pals
Deep water splashes in the pool
as I lay by the side
like bacon in a frying pan
Mini hoop heroes I pretend to be
Pushed higher and higher on a swing
as my stomach drops
Without mom or dad
there is no home.
