Meaning of Home
To me, home means where I live at the moment and where I feel most comfortable. I was originally born in South Korea and I moved to Canada when I was young. To me, I feel that Canada is my home because that is where I’m living right now and Canada feels very safe, as I have my family living with me. Though, I think Korea is also my home as that is where I was born and where my mother’s side of my family lives. In my opinion, home is also where family lives. If my parents and sister are with me, I feel like I am at home. Also to me, home is my house. In my house, I feel protected and I feel secure. Home to me also means my culture. My culture includes my country’s food, its traditions and its language. In my house, we speak Korean, eat Korean food and celebrate Korean traditions, but that doesn’t mean that we only eat, speak or celebrate Korean things. In conclusion, the meaning of home all depends on who you are, what you think and how you feel. Still, these are the reasons for what home means to me.
