Family Within Walls
A house with walls does not matter with no one to reside,
Look through the window to see who is inside.
A family that looks so clear,
With people that they hold dear.
Laughter fills the room,
Taking over the gloom.
With hope for it to remain,
Keeping away the pain.
My identity can be seen with no one to judge,
It will be respected with a push and a nudge.
As we sit by the fireplace and smile at each other,
As long as we’re together there is nothing to fear.
We gather around the dinner table to eat some food,
My family is there to lift my mood.
At the end of the day, we get into bed,
Thinking about the things we did and said.
Life is full of ups and downs,
Even with cries and frowns.
We all have a lot to say,
Family is there to listen and stay.
To end this poem I want to mention,
Habitat for Humanity is an amazing devotion.
Now that everything is good and well,
I bid you adieu and farewell.
