What Home Feels Like
When I step into my home, I feel ready to relax after a long day. Some days, I hear my cats greeting me and begging me for food. On other days, I hear my music-loving Dad playing his favourite music in the kitchen while he makes dinner for Mom and I. I feed my 2 cats and then I snuggle with them. I can feel my cat’s silky black fur. I also hear them both meowing and purring beautifully as I pet them. After that, I stroll into my living room and go onto our family’s computer. I can feel our keyboard as I type and play video games. In the background, I can hear my dad listening to his podcasts with a little speaker. Next, I hear my mom calling me over for dinner. I wash my hands and I can smell the scent of soap on my hands and in the air. I taste the freshly boiled spaghetti that Dad made for us. For dessert, I eat some candy from the tastiest part of our pantry. After dinner, I do some homework. I feel a pencil when I work on math, and I feel the small holes on my clarinet as I play. Just before bed, I paint with my mom. I can smell paint from the containers, and I see our colorful painting take shape. Then, I settle in for bed. I feel calm and ready to sleep. When I wake up in the morning, I feel lazy and sleepy. I can hear my cats meowing, again, for food. Several minutes after I wake up, my mom gives me breakfast. I see my tasty breakfast, waiting to be eaten. That is what home feels like.
