Home: True Defintion

This is the definition of “home” I got from Wikipedia: A home, or domicile, is a space used as a permanent or semi-permanent residence for one or more humans, occupants, and sometimes various companion animals. It is a fully- or semi-sheltered space and can have both interior and exterior aspects to it. This may be the official definition of “home” but I believe “home” means something more meaningful. Home is a safe place to rest and relax after a hard day of school or work. It’s someplace where you feel accepted and not anyone else. Home is someplace where me, my friends, my family, my pet, or anyone or anything else can enjoy their time. It’s a place where anyone can play and act freely. A place where you can cry, be mad, be disappointed, feel loved, feel scared, feel annoyed, feel happy, and most importantly feel like you matter. Home is not a place; it’s not a thing. But a person or a family. Home is not a house. Home is not somewhere where we just feel happy, it is somewhere where we feel everything. Home is where you are with what you love. Home is home. This for me is the true and meaningful definition for the word “home”.
