The Meaning of Home

“Home isn't a place, it's a feeling,” said Irish novelist Cecelia Ahern. Home is different for many people, for some it’s a house, for some it’s a country, and for some it’s neither. Because like Cecelia Ahern said home is a feeling, home doesn’t need to be a place, home is a good feeling of when you're with your favourite people, the people that if you argue with you'll make up, and doesn’t necessarily have to be family, it could be even your best friends. Usually people who don’t have a house think they don’t have a home or everyone else says they don’t have a home. Well I will argue differently, everyone will always have a home in they’re heart no matter what. No matter if they have a big family or no family at all, home is something everyone has and will always have. Home is something you can't take away nor can you take away love or passion, laughter or kindness. Home is a connection we have deep inside and we will always have a place for it in our hearts. In my house we have a wooden sign showing the country where I was born and Canada, and there is a line connecting them with the words “ Home is where the heart is”. For me it summarises the meaning of home, it’s where I came from, where I am and where I’m going. My home is not a physical thing, my home is my memories, my connections with my family and friends, my culture, my religion and everything that makes me ‘me’.
