Home
When you wake up in the morning, what do you see?
A ceiling, the wall, your mother trying to wake you up.
All of that but when you really think about it, what you see is your home, your family, your sanctuary where you live and where you thrive.
Home is not just a place you sleep, eat, use the bathroom and repeat.
It’s where you live.
Home is more than you think.
Home is a place where I live with my sisters and my parents.
Home is where I eat my mother’s spectacular coconut rice and beans.
It’s where memories are made and life is lived.
Home is where I spend time with my family and loved ones.
Whenever I think about my home I think about when I celebrate Kwanzaa with my family, or where I grow my own plants and food.
It's where I belong,
Some people might not be able to fathom what home means to me.
That's why I will never ever trade anything for the home I’ve got.
