Home is...
Some people ask, “What does a home even mean?”. Well do you want to know mine?
Home is somewhere that makes me feel happy because whenever I am sad or feel down my mom is always there for me. She always puts a smile on my face and cheers me up. Home makes me feel calm because when I get home from school and open the door I always get greeted by my cat and he rubs himself on me and it feels calming.
Home tastes like fresh homemade pizza after my mom, my sister and I put all our ingredients on pizza bread and cook it. It kind of smells spicy because the pepperoni on my pizza smell kind of fragrant like delicious goodness to me.
Home can’t be home without sleepovers at my grandma’s house. In the morning my grandma and I fill the house with the smell of delicious pancakes! We can’t wait to smother them with whipped cream and strawberries.
Home feels like the chilly air on a summer morning warmed up with a waffle breakfast with my mom.
Home can’t be a home if I don’t have movie nights with my mom and sister and let’s not forget the popcorn. Home is somewhere I can stay in my pyjamas all day and it’s not weird. Home looks like me and my cat Leo on my bed or on the couch watching a TV with his warm paws on my lap.
Habitat For Humanity builds homes for people so they can watch movies with family and feel cozy and safe.
