What Home Means to Me

Home is a place I want to return to. I feel like a bird returning home from the south when I am back home after most exciting vacations, or after visiting fancy places or even after having coolest parties with my friends. It is not just an instinct to be satisfied and cozy in my nest, it’s about how I feel when I am home. Obviously, I feel happy and relaxed instantly after I open the door. My little sister is running and gushing with joy and laughter when she sees me back home. I smell delicious food waiting for me. Even my cat comes to say hi by staring at me with her light blue eyes. When I come back home, I feel I was missed and that makes me feel loved. My home is not just a structure but a string of connected feelings and memories I make with my family no matter where we are. I moved six times since we came from Ukraine, so home is not a physical location. We carry home with us whenever we move. Everyone should have a home, whether it is a tent in the park or a giant mansion. You know the place is home if it draws you back when you are away. So for me home is where I fit best and it is where my family is.
