My Home is Far from Perfect
My Home is Far from Perfect
By Jenn
I know this writing is just like the rest you'll receive, but this one shows that my family isn't perfect but a perfect home is just a house. Someone once told me that there's a difference between a house and a home: a house takes bricks and a home takes kind, caring, sweet, loving people.
My home is a place where my siblings and I yell, scream and fight, but it’s also a place where my brother teaches me how to play his favorite video game or where my sister and I watch our favorite tv show over and over again. My home is a place where my mom tells me to do my chores, but it’s also a place where my mom gives me a hug and says I love you before bed or tells me all about her work drama (it makes me laugh every time). It’s even a place where my sister and I team up to take my stepdad down when we jump and fight jokingly. My home is also the place where my mom bakes cookies. She always leaves them in the oven for way too long so they come out burnt and dry they (taste and smell like charcoal).
My home is a bunch of things but perfect isn’t one of them. My family is loving, courageous, welcoming, loud, trustworthy, hard working, competitive, and incredibly strong, but we are far from perfect.
This is my imperfect home and family. And it’s just perfect.
