If Home were a Rainbow

The Meaning of Home. By Markus Cviljak February 2024 What home means to me is my family, my friends, my everything. It brings me through life. And my parents are there with me too. It's love and compassion. It is where I have grown up and learned new things. I have been educated here. It is where I started as a little baby. My home is like a gigantic rainbow. It reminds me of a rainbow; the colour of red stands for the bricks of my house, building the foundation of my life. Orange is the sunshine on my face as the light streams through the window. Yellow is the colour of the party lights in my backyard, where we hang out with family and friends. Green is the trees and plants in my yard that give us shade and oxygen to breathe. Blue is the clean water that is safe to drink from the tap and the tears from my eyes that I can feel safe enough to cry in my home. Purple is excitement for all the things that I've done in my life. This is what home means to me. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for building homes for others in need that will help to bring a rainbow of colours into their lives.
