My Special Home
Home is more than a simple four walls, it is an area of love and a place for peace. It is better than any 10-storey mansion with gold columns all around. Home is where my family is, familiar people, where I got my start in life. Every crack in the walls, all the chipping paint, it is all part of my home. If I had to live in a big 14 storey house, with everything I wanted, all the electronics and toys I wanted, all alone with no parents to boss me around, I would decline. Home is where my memories have sprouted, the unique tealish-blue of the walls in my room. In a big home, with no family and love, it’ll feel empty. My home (the building) is far from perfect, but with everyone around me it feels invaluable. There may be water damage in the living room, and wallpaper chipping all around. My family is much more important than a mere four walls. Of course I need a place to stay but, all I need is my family and a roof over my head.
Love, care, and discipline make up a home. It does not matter if it’s an apartment or a 10-storey mansion, all you need is a roof over your head and people that care. When my mother makes dinner, the smell of flat bread and lentils hits my nose. When my father turns on the radio, all the noise comforts me. The TV and the radio playing simultaneously can be annoying at times but when I feel at my lowest it comforts me. Home is like I said, not just four walls but something of comfort and love.
