The Core of You
Home is the core of you
If you remove it, you’re not whole
The house or apartment that holds the most dear people to you—
That is home.
The people who keep you afloat?
Whom you leave and come back to each day?
Without them, where would you be?
Your parents are like ships.
Before they were parents,
They traveled around,
Accomplished things,
And eventually anchored down—
Finding a good spot
To start a new life.
They went through so much to get there,
And by doing that,
They created a foundation.
To start achieving more,
Raising you,
Helping you,
And watching you grow.
Now that you’ve grown old,
You have a home of your own.
Your home is your core
Because it is a constant in your life
A feeling shared with loved ones,
The people who most special to you.
They are what make your home
Your home
And what make you
You
Now, the age-old question:
What is a home?
Your core?
A place?
A 2000 square-foot hunk of wood?
The answers are limitless, my friend,
But my answer is you.
