There’s No Place Like Home

There is truly no place like home. While any structure can be made out of bricks, a home can only be made out of belonging, hopes, and shared dreams. It is where I can be with the people I love. We share all our love with each other, making lovely memories as time goes by. Home is a wonderful place where we can be and live peacefully with the people we love. There, I can hear my mother’s voice, soft and loving, guiding me through the hardest times of my life. I also hear my father’s voice, deep and strong, and his perceptive advice that helps me overcome every challenge I face. Home is where everyone cares for each other. It is a place where we relax and be ourselves, with no discomfort. We can act like ourselves, speak the language we are comfortable speaking, and express our emotions. Nobody makes fun of you here. It is like a paradise made just for ourselves, where laughter never ends. Home is a place where I can feel safe. I can be sure there is nothing to be afraid of. I have the protection of my family, my armor, making sure that I am all right. To make home safe, we also need a safe community. All of us should contribute to keep our community safe. There are problems that can occur at home: fights and disagreements with loved ones, failure to keep things clean, the occasional broken vase... however, home finds ways to overcome conflict. Love creates a barrier against negativity. A home filled with love always wins. Home is a place where love and laughter will always reside. Thank you, Habitat of Humanity, for giving thoughtful opportunities to children so that we can help those in need.
