In My Magic Chest
I would put in my chest
Mini bookshelves, filled with books,
A journal that could be any size you wish it could be,
And a mini pen for writing my journey away.
I would put in my chest
My always full laptop,
The stuffies of my childhood,
And a smiling picture of my mom.
I would put in my chest
All the snacks in the world,
A book that would rewrite itself,
And a beautiful umbrella that glows.
I would put in my chest
A pillow made from the finest silk,
Infinite instant blankets,
And a warm, fuzzy hat.
My chest is fashioned of the finest leather in the world,
With the summer grass on top,
Its hinges are made from fine gold.
Though I have not mentioned, I have a great friend named Aimee
I will go with her on my trip away from our homes
I am sure that we will have the greatest of times,
playing wherever we go.
But I will always miss my home
And I am grateful that I will always
Have a home to return to.
