What Home Feels Like

To me, home isn't just brick, concrete, insulation, and wood Home is the warm hugs from mom that makes me melt into a puddle of love. Home is a safe space where I will not be judged for my emotions. Home is where I can tell my mom anything and everything without being shamed or shunned. Home is giving my dog big hugs when I’m sad or stressed. Home is a place where I will not have to worry about when I can eat next. To me home is not a perfect place in any way shape or form, but home is perfect for me. Home is a place filled with love, hate, happiness, sadness, and joy. Home is a place where everyone will love me through sickness and health. Home is a place full of laughter and tears. To me, home is a place full of truth. Home is where I can be sheltered from rain and snow. Home is where I am fully accepted by everyone there no matter what. Home is a place where I do not have to fight. To me, home is my friends. Home is the sound of my dog barking whenever my mom comes home. Home is my mom and the smell of her perfume. Home is my warm blankets that keep me warm at night. Home is forever and will never end. Home is the place I will live and die. Home is all my good memories. To me home is my favourite place and my favourite people. Home is where I laugh, scream and cry. Home is the absolute best place for me. Home is my friends and family. Home, not just a house.
