What Makes My Home A Home

My house is more than just several walls and a roof. It’s a cherished space with so many beautiful sounds. Like when I hear the gentle slam of the door when my mom comes home from work. Hearing the cheers and AHHHSSS of joy coming from the basement when my brother has done something amazing. The flips of the pages when I read on the couch before breakfast. The ding of the oven when fresh baked cookies are finished. The splash of the water when I jump into the pool on a scorching summer day. The BSSSHHHH while watering the plants in the backyard with the hose. The ding dong of the doorbell when my grandparents come over. The giggles from me and my dad when I play Super Mario. So, when I gently slam the door every day when I come home from school, I know I’m walking into a safe house full of memories.
