What is home?
What is home?
Home is a concept and atmoshere fostered by love and care. It has a personal value to it. A home is full of memories, good feelings, traditions, and family. A home is where you are comforted and cared for; a place to go when no one else will take you in.
A home isn’t just a house. Only good things make a home. Love and care are key ingredients. My mom will always greet me and show me love and care when I get home from school, and have a plate of food ready for me and my brother. Both love and care are shown to me every day, and should be to everyone else, too.
Memories are made all the time in a home. Whether it be a small one or big one, a home is never forgotten and anything that happens in a home is never forgotten. From your first step to your birthday, memories are a huge part of your life, and where better to make them than a home?
Traditions are a big part of a family and a house too. Things like Christmas, Diwali, any sort of holiday and tradition adds to the energy and diversity of a home, and are generally great. My family celebrates Diwali. It’s not that big of a deal, but we put up candles around the house and eat a bunch of indian sweets. I like it!
The duty of people in a home is to care for others and make them feel like a part of the household. My mom will comfort me if I’m ever having a not-so-good day, and she makes me feel like I’m understanded and valued. If I’m ever having a bad day, my mom’s my go-to.
I truly feel like part of my home; part of something bigger.
To put it simply, home is an atmosphere of love, care, family, tradition, and so much more. I would hate a world without homes. I don’t have to explain why, do I?
There’s no place like home.
