Home is Home
Home is a place where happiness and comfort permeates. Comfort is the shape of oval fried dumplings. The smell seeping through my nose, my heart, my soul.
Home is where I rest after hundreds of kisses, thousands of hugs and countless stories. Home is where my stuffed frog lies peacefully on my pillow. When I hug, him I feel like all my worries and fears are consumed by him and replaced with peace and sweet dreams. Home is where the sounds of light chinese music flows through my ears, connecting my past to my present.
My home is adorned by the photos of loved ones that have passed or are still here living around us. Home is where my mom, dad and two little sisters live in peace and joy. It is where you find togetherness, love and joy. It fills the air and makes everything right.
Home is a place where family members come and go giving gifts and praises, eating fruits and telling tales. Eating meals from small dishes to big lobsters, everyone has a bite. To me, home isn’t just a structure made of bricks, it’s a place where you grow your love and happiness for your family.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving an opportunity to let others have a home of their own.
