What Home Means to Me

Home Home is where me and my family laugh and cry, where we feel joy and anger. It is somewhere where we eat together talking about our day. Each morning is a race against the clock. My dad rushing to leave and my mom ushering us out of the house. Home is where me and my siblings fight and love each other. Where we beg our parents to let us stay awake. It is where I learn from my mistakes. Home is where I can teach my parents new information. Home is where we plan adventures, from weekend camping to going to Costa Rica! Home is also Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories. For me it will always be my home base. It is a very small home for a city but that also means after a few years I got to know most of the inhabitants. In this home I will always be able to rely on my coaches, neighbors and friends. Sometimes me and my family go to a Chinese, or an Indian restaurant. There, I learn about their culture and I discover exotic foods. We will often talk with waiters and they will tell us how they ended up here. Yellowknife has become home to so many people from around the world.
