Home Sweet Home
Meaning of Home - Princeton
What does home mean to me?
--------------------------------------
Have you ever wondered what the word 'home' really means? To some, it may just be a place to live, but to others, it's much more than that. Let me take you on a journey of what home means to me. Home is where I feel safe and secure. It's where I can relax, be myself, and spend time with loved ones.
I love playing with my brother in the backyard and grilling with my dad. Sometimes, when my brother and dad go for basketball, my mom and I play games like Uno or Trouble. Grilling with my dad is probably one of my favourite things that I talked about. Most of the time, I don’t cook and he just tells me tips on cooking and lets me flip the meat.
When I don’t cook, I play soccer and basketball with my brother in our backyard where the barbecue is. Sometimes my mom comes and joins us, and after we finish cooking, we go and eat outside on our porch.
Home is where I can do what I love and create memories. One of my memories is when my dad came back from a business trip when I was about 7. He made us a scavenger hunt for me and my brother around the house. Once we found everything, he gave us both some toys, and he was so happy when we asked to play with him.
This may not be home to everyone, but this is what home is to me and Habitat for Humanity makes people experience these amazing things.
