Home
A home is a place
Where I feel safe.
A home is a place
Where I sit by the fireplace.
I hear the crackling sound of burning wood
In the midst of the darkness my home is my hood.
My home is my smile
So I stay a little while.
I see love in the air
As my mom braids my hair.
I smell the beach
As I eat a peach.
I touch my blankets
I play with tiny trinkets.
A home is my beehive it keeps me warm
And it keeps me from the storms.
I taste my moms curry
As my little lizard scurries.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for letting me say what home means to me
Now it’s time for me to be.
