I am Home, Old and Beautiful

Many people think I’m just four walls and a roof. But I am more than that, I have doors that have been walked through and open and closed. I am filled with love, laughter, kindness and the occassonal argument. I am also filled with hugs and kisses. I have floors that have been walked on by dogs, cats and humans alike. I have walls that have contained love and happiness for years, also containing the occasional mouse or squirrel. I have rooms that have been changed by each generation. I have a kitchen that has made delicious chicken noodle soup, cookies, pizza and more. I have a living room that has held a lot of hugs and kindness. I've seen so many Christmas trees, presents, stuffy animals, toys, books and other human items randomly placed I've lost count. I can't tell you how many years I've been standing tall strong, protecting the family that takes refuge within me. I am home and that is what I am made of. By Amy Cole.
