What Makes a Home

Home is a feeling, like the way my family loves me every day. Home is a place that trust, love, and loyalty is built. Unlike a house you can’t buy a home, you have to build it one by one, building trust, then love, then loyalty. A house is a place built by bricks, concrete, and roofing. A home is built by comfort, love, trust, loyalty, happiness, kindness, commitment, and family, friends, relatives, and pets. Houses are built around four walls, but a home is a safe place, to talk about serious things, and is a safe place to cry. A house cannot move, a home can. A home is a beautiful thing, a home is a place to love. A house is a place where you only need one person to keep it together. A home is a place where you need family, friends, and love. Most have a home, not always a house. Except their homes might not always be safe, whether you’re homeless, or in an unsafe area. I believe everyone deserves food on the table, and a family who they love, and who loves them back. That’s why I am so thankful that Habitat for Humanity is doing this contest and raising money for making a home for a less fortunate family.
