Where is Home

Home is where I don’t feel judged and only feel loved. Home is the Sri Lankan dishes that my mom cooks and the flavour is which I savor mixed with spices, The warmth from the fireplace on a cold winter day is where me and my sister play board games and card games all day. Home is where everybody fits in like a puzzle piece and not one person gets left out and nobody is troubled to leave. The times when things feel like a bummer I sit outside in the backyard in the summer to make me feel better, The delicious breakfast in the morning before school which is the best, The love that's in my home like the wind under a dove’s wing, Whenever I feel down I know my family has my back, Home is when my mom greets me with when school is done, My dads smile everyday when he comes home, My family has a picture gallery of me and my family, My family movie nights every Friday with delicious mango smoothies, My sister and I play board games and which will never be lame, My pets who wait for me to play all day, My family's love is all I need if I feel down or I frown, Even though I have moved many times they all feel like home because my family is there and I’m not alone, With my family I know nothing will change and I will be safe, Waking up early morning seeing my dad downstairs and saying good morning with a smile, I know I will never feel alone because my family is always there for me, The special cultural celebrations like Thai Pongal, With the special meals my mom makes and that day is where we all pray which is special to me, These are the things that make my house a home for me which is family and memories.
