Home is not just a structure. Home is where I live in togetherness with my mom, dad, and my brother. Home is the center of life. Where the heart is and always will be. Home is a place of safety. It’s where the warm air makes you feel comfortable. Home is where my mother’s arms make me feel loved. Where my dad makes me laugh until my cheeks hurt. Home is where me and my brother play video games until we both fall asleep. Where there is no judgment, but always understanding. It is not a building made of concrete and bricks. It is a tree, where our roots grow from the same memories. Home is where my mom makes egg sandwiches every morning with love. Home. Where parties, sleepovers, and holidays are held, and always remembered. Where nothing would feel the same if it was just a house. Home is where all our firsts are and where our lasts will be. Where love and understanding fills the warm air. Home is where being grateful is important. Where we say I love each other every day. Because we do, we love each other with all our hearts. And finally, where my dad asks me for words in french. But not in a serious way. Simply to test my skills in a fun way, that makes us all laugh happily. Because that is exactly what we are. A happy family, together in warmth and safety.
