Meaning of Home

One word, home. Home is one word but has endless amounts of meaning. Home is different for everyone but this is it to me. A place with family or guardians or with no one.It might be with a grandparent or a nana and papa. Home can be big like the eiffel tower or small like a mouse. Home is where traditions start and holidays continue. Birthdays after birthdays, years after years and this happens in a home. Home is where parents make dinner that smells so good just like my uncle’s special walking tacos! The crunch in my mouth from the doritos sounds just like an egg hitting the side of the bowl when my nana and I bake! It’s one of the best! Some families have special food that they love to have and some don’t have a favourite dish. Some sit at a dinner table and some don’t. My family does and we talk about our days. Some of us have a good day and some don’t have a good day but that’s okay we cheer them up with dessert. If you think of it, a house doesn't have any of this, that is until a family buys it and turns it into a home. A home is a centre of life, has love, thankfulness and it’s a safe space. At least that’s a home to me. One more thing, thank you habitat humanity for building homes for families and for giving us this opportunity.
