Meaning of Home

“Peace, like charity, begins at home.” Franklin D. Roosevelt, former U.S president. When we talk about home all people think about happy, fun or other feelings. But for me, when it comes to home, it's not just about feeling but also about knowing how to appreciate your own home. I say you must appreciate it because when I lived in Vietnam I witnessed a big fire and it affected the neighboring apartments. That forces neighboring apartments to move their homes. You only really know how much you need your home when you don’t have it. But appreciating your home is also peaceful because if you appreciate it you don’t go and destroy other people's houses. What I'm talking about here is war. When war breaks out, the innocent people who lose their homes are the poor people. Back to the main topic, we just learned a very real example about appreciating a house. In fact, we have a lot to answer the question: What does home mean? We can say happy, fun and love but I want to say something different like ease, safe haven, helping, giving advice, etc… Besides, habits are also very interesting answers. You can choose habits like also giving ideas to your family. You can also say entertainment and listen to music or relax with coffee in the morning. For me home is not only a safe haven but also a place where we feel the love of family, this is my answer. In this article I want to talk about appreciation and from there we will create peace. I hope that after you finish reading my article you will have the answer to the question: What does home mean?
